QUEST+ Study: LGBTQIA+ survivors of sexual violence
A research team from Kings College interviewed LGBTQIA+ survivors of sexual violence to understand our experiences relating to professional psychological support. By listening to the community, they hoped to improve future care for LGBTQIA+ survivors.
The study examined the perspectives of 12 survivors and 10 practitioners. The findings centred on two key themes. Across both, participants highlighted the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity and experiences of sexual trauma, often describing the importance of the nuance in how these aspects of their lives are understood and discussed.
