Recovery Histories: How do people recover from CSA?

Recovery Histories is the first social, cultural and medical history into recovery from childhood sexual abuse in the second half of 20th century Britain and Ireland. Even though child sexual abuse is not an illness, recovery is spoken about in a language borrowed from medicine.

Researchers at Birkbeck University wanted to learn from the experiences of survivors and practitioners about the many ways that survivors live with the aftermath of child sexual abuse. In order to do that, they're running semi-structured interviews as part of a long-term study into what recovery looks like for those of us at various stages of our journeys.
