THE DEATH DISCUSSION GROUP IS BACK!

If you’re interested in questions of mortality or you just want an excuse to get a bit philosophical, come and join us in our death discussion group sessions.

We run them once a month online, you can pay whatever you want (including nothing) to attend, and you can join directly in your browser without downloading anything.

Each month we’ll be talking about a different topic that has something to do with death. This month, on September 22nd, we’ll be discussing the Black Mirror episode ‘Be Right Back,’ in which people are able to talk to AIs of their dead loved ones. Researcher Fahime Haijabadi has been studying this idea for a while, and she’ll be talking about it from a psychological perspective.

No prior knowledge of psychology, philosophy or AI is required. If you’d like to watch the Black Mirror episode beforehand that will give you a good idea of the kind of thing we’ll be talking about, but it’s not required. At the time of writing, you can find all episodes of Black Mirror on Netflix in the UK.
